Best practices: First week safety checklist

Quick answer

For your first week, prioritize reliability over performance:

  1. Start on demo
  2. Use small lots
  3. Verify everything in Logs
  4. Complete Symbol Mapping
  5. Only then scale up

Checklist (do this in order)

Day 1 — Setup

  • [ ] Complete: Quickstart: First copy in 5 minutes
  • [ ] Create at least one connection (master → receiver)
  • [ ] Set sizing to Lot Multiplier = 1.0 (or Fixed Lots small)

Day 2 — Verify reliability

  • [ ] Place 3–5 tiny trades on different symbols
  • [ ] Confirm each one appears as a green copied event in Logs
  • [ ] Confirm no “Symbol not found” errors

Day 3 — Symbol mapping

  • [ ] Open Symbol Mapping for each connection
  • [ ] Map any mismatched symbols (especially GOLD, indices, crypto)
  • [ ] Retest the mapped symbols

Day 4 — Risk and sizing

  • [ ] Decide your sizing approach (Lot Multiplier vs Risk %)
  • [ ] If using risk sizing, ensure SL is always available (or you understand fallbacks)
  • [ ] Confirm no “Invalid volume” or “Insufficient margin” errors

Day 5+ — Go live gradually

  • [ ] Start live with minimum lots
  • [ ] Increase slowly over multiple trades/days
  • [ ] Keep Logs open during the first live session

If anything looks wrong

  1. Read: Troubleshooting: Trades not copying
  2. Run Copy Not Working? quick scan
  3. Open a support ticket if needed
