Error: Order timeout / request timeout

Quick answer

Timeouts mean the receiver platform did not respond in time.

  1. Retest with a tiny trade
  2. Check receiver connectivity (internet/VPS)
  3. Check whether the broker/platform is slow or rate-limited

Symptoms

  • Logs show "timeout", "request timeout", or similar errors
  • Copying is intermittent

Most common causes

  • Unstable network connection
  • Broker API or platform temporarily slow
  • VPS under heavy load

Fix steps

  1. Restart the receiver platform/app (quick reset)
  2. Reduce load (close unused terminals, reduce background apps)
  3. If on VPS, confirm CPU/RAM are not maxed

Verify it worked

  1. Place a tiny test trade
  2. Confirm in Logs the receiver executed without timeout

If it still fails (Escalate)

Include in your ticket:

  • Platform (MT4/MT5/cTrader/etc.)
  • Approx frequency (every trade vs sometimes)
  • Time window and timezone
