Trade Copier: Symbol mapping (what it is + common mappings)

Quick answer

If trades fail with “Symbol not found” or a signal uses a different symbol name (e.g., GOLD vs XAUUSD), you need Symbol Mapping for that connection.

  1. Open Trade Copier
  2. Find the connection (Master → Receiver)
  3. Open Symbol Mapping
  4. Map master symbol → receiver symbol
  5. Save

What is symbol mapping?

Different brokers/platforms often use different names for the same instrument.

Examples:

  • One broker uses XAUUSD, another uses GOLD
  • One broker uses NAS100, another uses USTEC
  • Some brokers add suffixes like EURUSDm or EURUSD.a

Symbol Mapping translates the master’s symbol name into the receiver broker’s symbol name so the receiver can place the order.

Symptoms

  • Logs show Symbol not found
  • Trades are skipped or rejected only on certain symbols
  • Telegram/TradingView signals look correct, but receiver doesn’t place orders

Most common causes

  • Master uses a generic symbol (GOLD, US30) but receiver uses a broker-specific symbol (XAUUSD, DJ30)
  • Receiver symbols include suffixes/prefixes (e.g., EURUSDm, XAUUSD.r)
  • Crypto/index symbols differ across brokers

Fix steps

1) Identify the master symbol

Look in Logs for the symbol on the master event (or in the signal text if using Telegram/TradingView).

2) Identify the receiver symbol

Check the receiver platform’s symbol list (or what the broker shows in the terminal).

Common hints:

  • MT brokers often use suffixes: EURUSDm, XAUUSDm, US30.cash
  • Some platforms use different index names: US30, DJ30, USA30

3) Map master → receiver

In Symbol Mapping:

  1. Find the master symbol (left)
  2. Choose the correct receiver symbol (right)
  3. Save

4) Repeat for other receivers

Each receiver can have different symbols. If you have multiple receiver accounts, map for each one.

Common mappings (examples)

These vary by broker, but these are common:

  • GOLDXAUUSD
  • XAUUSDGOLD
  • US30DJ30
  • NAS100USTEC
  • SPX500US500
  • GER40DE40

Verify it worked

  1. Place a tiny test trade on the master for that symbol.
  2. Open Logs and confirm the receiver placed the trade (green copied event).

If it still fails (Escalate)

  1. Open Copy Not Working? → run quick scan
  2. Export Logs (last 24h) if asked
  3. In your ticket, include: - Master symbol + receiver symbol you mapped - A screenshot of the receiver platform showing the correct symbol name
